Boughton Signal Box - On the Move
On April 19th 2008, Boughton Signal Box (ex Betley Road) was moved from Pitsford & Brampton station to its new home at Boughton Sidings. Dean Upton captured the day's activities on camera......

1) Girders are pre-assembled under the box, chains attached and cranes take the strain. |
2) The box is lowered onto the low loader and manoeuvred into position. |
|
|
|
|
|
3) All tied down and ready to leave for its new home. |
4) Approaching Boughton Crossing on the A5199. |
|
|
|
|
| 5) Passing Boughton station site on the Brampton Valley Way, the cranes in hot pursuit! | 6) Boughton Signal Box is lifted towards its foundation - steady as she goes - steady..... |

| 7) ....steady..... | 8) .. and relax! The girders drop into the prepared slots and Boughton Signal Box comes to rest on its base. |

| 9) The girders can now be removed and the brickwork completed. | 10) A week later and the girders have been removed and preparations are being made to fit the new facia boards. |
