The Northampton & Lamport Railway presents....
26th & 27th September 2009

We invite you to visit for our sixth
Railway at War event at Chapel Brampton as we travel back in time to
1940s wartime Britain. |
Members of the general public are encouraged to attend the event in period dress and many of our visitors wear 1940's civilian clothing or military uniform. Don't forget to bring your gas mask! |
The local Home Guard will be mounting a regular guard on the vehicles and munitions stored at the station. They will also carry out documentation and identity checks on visitors to the station. |
Local schools will be encouraged to bring parties of children dressed as evacuees during the weekend to experience a little glimpse of life in the 1940's. Live 1940s music will add to the atmosphere and there will be a Saturday evening dance featuring The Rutland Big Band and swing DJ JP. (See below for details)
