Bridge 13 part 4

Tracklaying North of Bridge 13

Track is now extending out into the countryside north of Bridge 13. As yet it is not connected to the track on the bridge but is there as a clear pointer to the future. It should not be too long before our passengers have an unobstructed view out over the rolling Northamptonshire countryside.

The exposed top edges of the main girders are given the second of three coats of paint prior to the ballast retaining wall being raised to its final height.

The rails on the bridge are now in place to almost half way across. The painting on the top plates will only be finished once the other work is completed.

Track is now in place out into the countryside north of bridge 13. As yet in ballasted it will only extend as finance permits.

A new rail is guided into place alongside the rail chairs on the newly laid sleepers.

Once at that point it is carefully rolled into the chairs by careful use of turning bars and crow bars.
