Lamport Station

Until recently the signal box at Lamport crossing stood witness to the railway that once crossed the main Northampton to Market Harborough road. The box was boarded up by members some years previously to protect it from vandal attack. Although stripped of all internal fittings, the main uprights of the lever frame were still in position. The box was eventually removed as it was thought to be a deteriorating eyesore. It now serves as booking office at Pitsford & Brampton Station. The main station building is still in situ an was in use until recent times as a ranger station for the Brampton Valley Way. Along with a set of plans recently obtained from the Public Records Office, it will be used to draw up plans for replacement buildings for the restored line's station.
