This locomotive is mechanically very similar to Bunty having been rebuilt with hydraulic transmission by Fowlers in 1966. The engine was replaced by a Leyland Albion unit similar to those used in busses and some D.M.U.s.
Following industrial use for British Steel at Hartlepool, this machine spent the last 27 years of its life on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, but in the last five years had fallen into disuse. The engine had suffered frost damage and the sourcing of new cylinder liners proved difficult so a replacement engine has been found. The engine, although many years old was well maintained and had operated for very few hours as it had been a fire pump in a block of flats. In due course the locomotive will be restored to its former glory and will be used as the yard pilot at Pitsford & Brampton Station.
As yet most of the technical details for the information table are missing, but will be added as soon as they become available.
Soon after arrival, No 21 in Pitsford Yard.
Mechanically in fairly good order, it looks worse than it is!
