LMS Tube/5 Plank Open Wagon M499227, built in 1936 by Charles Roberts & Co. of Horbury Junction, Wakefield (also known as Chas Roberts & Co.).

Initially numbered as 499227 by the LMS the wagon became M499227 upon Nationalisation of the railways in 1948.

The last allocation of the wagon was to BR Wolverton Works as an 'Internal User' wagon numbered as 024228. An internal user wagon is a vehicle that is restricted to a certain location and not allowed to be moved on the main line.
