Originally numbered as № 280861 the wagon was renumbered as № E260861 and classified as a ‘MAC PV’ upon nationalisation of the railways in 1948.

Upon entering deparmental service it became № (A)DE260861, part of the BR Eastern Region’s departmental fleet.
