**10th Dec 2021**

In light of the Government’s announcements this week, please note that we have now initiated the following Covid measures at the railway:

  • Masks are now compulsory in the shop, buffet and model railway (for the public), unless individuals are medically exempt.
  • Masks are not required by the public when seated on the train, as we will be serving food. However, you are asked to wear a mask when moving about the train, boarding, alighting, etc.
  • Visitors and staff are encouraged to keep 2 meters apart, particularly when queuing for Santa or the Buffet
  • Platform staff will endeavor to spread people out throughout the train, where possible.
  • We will also be moving Santa out of the grotto and onto the platform. Social distancing will be required when the public meet with Santa.
  • There will be no public access to the cab/footplate of any loco, or to the signal box.
  • Wearing of masks by staff will be strongly encouraged, but not compulsory.

We ask that should anyone in your household have had COVID-19 symptoms in the 14 days prior to the event that you do not attend, and those in high risk categories are requested to remain cautious.

Your cooperation is appreciated, and we thank you.

We are proud to be an official AA ‘Covid-19 Confident’ attraction. This means it has been independently verified that we have in place all the necessary risk assessments, safety measures and staff training to re-open safely. We have also signed the Covid Confident Charter, giving our customers the confidence that we are a responsible venue, operating fully in line with the UK Government’s guidelines (as well as UKHospitality and respective trade association guidelines), and are committed to updating our procedures and measures as guidelines change.
